Two people charged with drug and weapons possession after traffic stop in Almaguin

Police have arrested two people on drug and weapon charges after a traffic stop in Burks Falls.  Almaguin Highlands OPP says they arrested a 40-year-old after he was stopped on Ontario Street on Tuesday afternoon.  Police managed to get a search warrant for the man’s home where several drugs and weapons were found.  The Burks Falls native has been charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine, trafficking drugs, three counts of possession of a weapon and two counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon.  During the arrest, they also charged a 39-year-old woman from Perry Township with possession of marijuana and failure to comply with probation.  The woman will appear in court next month and the Burks Falls man had his court appearance yesterday.
