Federal Election candidates square off in second debate in Parry Sound-Muskoka

At last night’s All Candidates debate in Parry Sound the candidates were asked about Young people being disenchanted with the election process.  Trisha Cowie of the Liberal party says it’s not just youth disenchanted but all ages and that the people she talked with just want change and are hopeful that will happen.  Albert Gray Smith of the Marxist-Leninist Party suggested that young people need to get angry about issues like high tuition rates and lack of jobs and express that anger.  Glen Hodgson of the Green Party says that the issue lies with what youth are seeing in today’s politicians such as their actions during debates.  He says they see politicians talk over each other and interrupting one another so they ask why politicians can do it if they are allowed to.  The NDP’s Matt McCarthy says his party has repeatedly put the focus on youth and future generations.  Incumbent Tony Clement responded by saying he, himself has conducted round tables with the youth of the riding to engage them and found there is passion in today’s youth.  Gordie Merton of the Canada Action party was not in attendence.
