An Evening Of Swifts

May 15 @ 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Each spring, Chimney Swifts return to Parry Sound from their wintering grounds in the Andes. As they fly north, they are in search of suitable chimneys for nesting, and will often use them along the way to roost. This is a very spectacular sight and we are excited to share it with everyone!

Like many “aerial insectivores” Chimney Swifts have seriously declined in Canada. Members of our club have been monitoring their numbers in town.

We will be meeting at the Parry Sound High School parking lot, off of Isabella Street, and viewing from there! Please be sure to bring a pair of binoculars, spotting scope if you have one, and camera!
