High fire rating across West Parry Sound means fireworks are prohibited

The fire danger rating for the West Parry Sound District will remain high heading into the Civic Holiday long weekend.

That’s according to Carling Fire Chief Gord Harrison, who reiterated the high rating on July 30.

With a high rating campfires are still permitted. However, no open burning is allowed, and no fireworks are allowed.

Residents are advised to be cautious and to check with local authorities before burning.
