West Parry Sound Health Centre receiving $1.9M annual funding increase

The Ontario government is investing over $1.9 million to support operational improvements and reduced wait times at West Parry Sound Health Centre.

According to Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Graydon Smith, this funding is part of a $1.1 billion investment into the hospital sector, which represents a four per cent increase in annual support for the fourth year in a row.

“This investment reflects our commitment to ensuring Ontarians have access to high-quality care close to home,” said Smith. “By increasing base funding, we are helping local hospitals deliver the services our communities depend on while supporting the dedicated staff who provide that care every day.”

Smith said West Parry Sound Health Centre will receive a 3.1 per cent increase in annual funding over the 2026–27 fiscal year to help support core clinical services so they can better meet patient needs. This includes helping to keep their emergency departments open, address inflationary and wage pressures, and reduce wait times for diagnostic imaging and surgical procedures.
