Three international students in need of host families in Parry Sound

YES Canada is currently seeking host families in the West Parry Sound area for three international students who will be attending Parry Sound High School beginning this September.

Program officials say host families are currently being sought in Parry Sound, Seguin, McDougall, Carling, McKellar, The Archipelago and Whitestone.
Students from Australia, Denmark, Italy and France area all set to experience life in Canada, become part of a local family, and immerse themselves in the school and Parry Sound area community during their exchange.

“Hosting an international student is a unique opportunity to bring the world into your home without the expense of travel,” said JJ Blower, the local coordinator for YES Canada. “Host families often tell us they gain a new family member, lifelong friendships, and unforgettable experiences.”

Host families receive monthly financial support to help offset the costs of hosting, as well as ongoing support from a YES Canada local coordinator throughout the student’s stay.

While several students have already been housed, there are still three students scheduled to arrive in September who still need to be matched with a host family.

Anyone interested in learning more about becoming a host family is encouraged to contact Blower at 705-773-8718 or jj.blower@youthedservices.ca
