Parry Sound Public School to host spring carnival fundraiser May 28

Parry Sound Public School is hosting spring carnival fundraiser on May 28, after a successful inaugural event last year.

“Last year completely exceeded our expectations. We were able to welcome over 400 people from the community and we raised more than $8,000,” said Chantelle Link, chair of the Parry Sound Public School Parent Advisory committee.

According to Link, the funds raised last year were directed towards the kindergarten playground at the school which was in dire need of repairs.

This year, all funds raised will be going towards student programs and initiatives, and to support future opportunities for PSPS students.

The carnival, which will run from 5 to 7 p.m., will include music, food, games, face painting, a bake sale, book fair, raffle baskets and more. Attendees will also have a chance to explore a variety of emergency services vehicles that will be on display.

“It’s really designed to be affordable, family-friendly and very welcoming for the community, and is basically to bring everybody together and have fun,” said Link. “We would really like the entire community to come out and support PSPS. This event is more than just fundraising; it is about creating memories, building community spirit and bringing families together.”

The event is cash only. Admission is $5.
