The reconstruction of the Seguin River Bridge is slated to begin in mid-May.
According to officials with the Municipality of McDougall, construction to replace the McDougall Road bridge which spans a small section of the Seguin River, is set to begin on May 20.
The bridge, which is approximately 9.3 kilometres north of the Highway 400 intersection with McDougall Road, has reached the end of its serviceable life and requires replacement to ensure continued safety and functionality.
In order to facilitate the safe and efficient completion of the work, officials say McDougall Road will be fully closed at the bridge site to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic during construction.
The $2.97 million project is expected to be completed by October.
