Coast Guard holding S&R training in Parry Sound and surrounding area until May 31

The Canadian Coast Guard is holding search and rescue training in Parry Sound until the end of May.

CCG officials says training will be carried out by the Arctic Marine Response Station during daytime and nighttime hours at the Coast Guard’s local base and surrounding waters south to Midland, and north to Britt.

Officials say the public can expect to see upwards of five Zodiac Fast Rescue Crafts, and one to two helicopters throughout the area, adding there is no real emergency or danger to the public.
