A long-time community advocate is receiving Rotary International’s highest honour bestowed on a member.
Linda West, Rotary Club President, was picked by the Rotary International Board of Directors to receive the 2022-23 Service Above Self Award.
According to the Rotary Club, the honour, considered the highest recognition a Rotarian can achieve, is awarded to a maximum of 150 of the 1.2 million Rotarians per year.
On social media, the club recognized West’s contribution to the community as “truly globally significant”.
“Thank you Linda, from your fellow Rotarians and our community that you serve so proudly and comprehensively,” the post read.
West was the recipient of the 2020 Order of Parry Sound in recognition of her efforts in setting up the Rotary Club to respond to the pandemic’s first year.
