October saw a drop in job postings in Parry Sound District.
150 jobs were posted that month, down nearly 19% from September.
“This monthly decrease could be related to either seasonal trends or signs of a possible recession approaching or both,” states the Labour Market Group’s (LMG) October jobs report.
The number of job postings is also down about 23% compared to October 2021.
75 unique employers posted jobs in October, down from 84 last year.
The top five employers posting jobs include:
West Parry Sound Health Centre
Near North District School Board
The Home Depot – Parry Sound
Walmart – Parry Sound
Shoppers Drug Mart – Parry Sound
Healthcare and Social Assistance was the top hiring industry, followed by Retail Trade. Accommodation & Food Services rounds out the top three. Nearly 61% of the job postings in October were for full-time employment.
