OPP seeking dash cam footage in connection with Monday evening’s armed robbery

West Parry Sound OPP is asking for the public’s help in connection to the Monday(Oct 31st) evening armed robbery on Pine Drive.

The detachment’s Communications Officer Constable Joe Scali says they are looking for any dash-cam video filmed on October 31st between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. around three areas in town. “The intersection of Oastler Park Drive and Bowes Street, Bowes Street from Oastler Park Drive to Pine Drive, or Pine Drive north of Bowes Street and surrounding parking lots,” Scali says. 

Police are asking that anyone with footage from that time and area to please call the West Parry Sound OPP at 1-888-310-1122 for viewing.

The local OPP detachment along with the OPP’s Crime Unit, Emergency Response Unit, Canine Unit, and Forensic Identification Services continue to investigate the incident that took place around 6 PM in a business on Pine Drive. Police say someone entered the business brandishing a knife and demanded merchandise and cash. 

According to OPP the suspect then fled the scene. The local detachment says no business name or suspect description can be confirmed at this time as this is an active investigation. However, officials did confirm that no persons were injured during this event.
