Police are investigating the fatal collision that left Highway 69 closed for most of Monday morning.
According to West Parry Sound OPP, officers and Parry Sound EMS responded to a head-on crash involving a vehicle and a tractor-trailer on Highway 69 between Shebeshekong Road and Woods Road around 3 AM.
Police say the driver of the motor vehicle, 36-year-old Mohammed (Bakir) Khidayer from Leamington, was pronounced dead at the scene with the driver and passenger of the tractor-trailer obtaining minor injuries.
The crash closed HWY 69 for several hours as the OPP investigated the collision. It has since been reopened.
OPP says the investigation is ongoing under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service with a postmortem examination set to take place in Toronto.
