Two more NNDSB school infrastructure projects

Over a million dollars in infrastructure upgrades are on the way for two schools at the Near North District School Board (NNDSB).

Tenders were issued for $490,000 in upgrades to washrooms and the Public Address system at Mapleridge Public School in Powassan.

An HVAC upgrade worth $510,000 is also on the way for Argyle Public School in Port Loring.

NNDSB says these are the most recent of several infrastructure investments in schools across their district.

”Our board is grateful for the significant amount of federal and provincial government support to assist us in modernizing our facilities to keep our students and staff safe during these challenging times,” says Jay Aspin Chair NNDSB.  “Our firm commitment is to provide the best learning environment to promote student well- being and success in all regions of our board.”

With support from the federal and provincial governments over $20 million has been invested in school buildings this school year.

Much of the work was for ventilation upgrades while others are creating innovative learning spaces.
