Forests Ontario honours area resident

One Parry Sound resident is being recognized as a Forest Sector Champion.

Steve Munro is among ten people honoured for being instrumental in creating and delivering the Ontario Tree Marking Program. The program was established in 1993.

Munro says credit should also be given to fellow Parry Sound resident Ken Webb. He says the two of them were instrumental in delivering the Provincial tree marking program since its conception.

The award goes to individuals for outstanding achievements and contributions to forestry education in Canada and beyond.

They were recently honoured at the Forests Ontario Annual Conference.
