Power outages continue following windstorm

The weekend’s wind storm cut power to hundreds of thousands across the province in what Hydro One is describing as the worst in years as high winds brought down trees, power lines and damaged substations across the province.

The Parry Sound Region and areas of Muskoka still have thousands without power this morning as all available crews continue to assess many areas and work to restore power to other areas. As of this morning the Estimated Time of restoration for most areas is at least 4:00 p.m. this afternoon.

Because of the lack of power over the weekend and power expected out for the day, the Near North School Board has announced that the Britt School is closed today.
