Canadore College’s West Parry Sound campus has launched an informal housing registry for community members interested in housing students.
Campus Supervisor Lee-Ann Turner says the local response has been very positive with some 15 community members already on the list.
“We are seeking people who have never opened up their homes to boarders or room share situations to reach out to us and we will provide information and welcome people to join the housing list that we created and that we keep updated as time goes on,” she says.
Turner says the campus has been advertising on Facebook and the community pages about this informal housing registry.
She says the college is trying to promote the healthcare profession in light of area shortages, as well as promote people to stay in the community because there are so many healthcare jobs available.
