Turkeys are en-route to PS Tummies again this Thanksgiving

Parry Sound’s Turkey’s for Tummies, previously known as the Thanksgiving Event, is back in full swing this year.

The volunteer-based service that started six years ago is ready to bring thanksgiving dinners to local families in need.

One of the service’s organizers, Krista Holmes says the initiative started with just feeding five families and has since grown.

“We took last year off because of COVID-19 and this year we are anticipating helping around 70 families,” she said.

Holmes said some of these families don’t have cars and are limited in where they can go, which is why the service also delivers dinners to homes within the radius of Mactier to Britt.

Anyone wanting to get involved in this project can do so by visiting its Facebook page Thanksgiving Event – PS Area Turkeys for Tummies.
