A local man was found deceased yesterday(Thursday) after local OPP officers responded to reports of a missing person last seen in the Seguin River.
Witnesses say they saw a person enter the river, lost sight of the individual and called EMS.
An investigation was done by the West Parry Sound Detachment, with the assistance of the Marine Unit, Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, Parry Sound Fire Services and the District’s Emergency Medical Services.
The Underwater Search and Recovery Unit located the deceased who was identified as 43-year-old Jeremy Atkins.
The investigation is ongoing under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
