The Near North District School Board was recognized by the province recently for its successful Summer Learning Program last year.
In the board’s April update, Director of Education Craig Myles said Ontario’s Council of Directors of Education recognized the board’s successful technology-enabled distance learning program.
The board’s outcomes were combined with those from eight other school boards for a report submitted to the Ministry of Education.
The report showed how summer learning successfully supports Ontario’s vulnerable students and their families from all regions of the province.
The board confirmed that if the Summer Learning Program is approved to run this year, identified students will be invited to participate.
