The local health unit released its own list of the pharmacies in our district set to begin COVID-19 vaccinations for individuals born in 1966 or before as early as tomorrow.

This follows the province revealing yesterday a list of 350 new pharmacies rolling out the AstraZeneca vaccine to those (55+).

In Parry Sound Shoppers Drug Mart will be offering the shots as well as Loblaws Pharmacy in Sturgeon Falls.

Those 55 years old and over wishing to book an appointment at participating pharmacies can book appointments through the pharmacies’ websites directly.

For Shoppers in Parry Sound, residents are asked to use the booking website to register as doses will be allocated there.

Shoppers does not physically have the vaccine yet so you can’t book until it is received into the store. Customers should not call to book appointments as they are being done online with the Shoppers Drug Mart COVID hub.

The health unit is also reminding residents its Call Centre is open April 2 to April 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to book appointments for individuals born in 1951 or before.

To book an appointment by phone over the weekend, call 1-800-563-2808 and choose option 4. Individuals may also book online using the provincial booking system at ontario.ca/BookVaccine.
