Two Parry Sound locals with COVID-19 admitted to hospital over weekend

The local health unit reported two hospitalizations related to COVID-19 from Parry Sound over the weekend.

No new cases or recoveries keep the Parry Sound District at five active cases.

Both individuals admitted to the hospital are 60 to 79-years old and contracted the virus through community transmission.

In Nipissing, three new cases place that district at 30 active cases of COVID-19.

All four cases are associated with either the Casellholme Outbreak or the Skyline Community Outbreak.

As of Monday, 41 cases of COVID-19 have been identified in relation to the Skyline Community Outbreak in North Bay.

The health unit reported the first death related to the Skyline outbreak last week, with 14 cases remaining active, 26 recovered and one in hospital.
