Parry Sound Area’s outdoor public skating rinks, skating trails, tobogganing hills, OFSC trails and snowmobile trails on Crown Land will reopen Monday.

The North Bay Parry Sound District’s Medical Officer of Health Dr. Jim Chirico announced Friday afternoon that after much consideration, he will reopen these amenities while requiring municipalities to monitor these sites to ensure that individuals are following Public Health measures.

Dr. Chirico warned that if the health unit is made aware of Public Health measures not being followed, he will re-evaluate the situation and potentially close these amenities again.

He finished by saying “I believe that our district has done an excellent job of supporting each other go through Public Health measures to keep each other safe and by supporting our local businesses, we’ve come so far, and made many sacrifices; we have to hang on a little longer, So lets continue these efforts by staying home, staying safe, and saving lives.”
