Weekend sees one new case of COVID-19 in Parry Sound, one in Nipissing

One new case of COVID-19 was reported in Parry Sound over the weekend.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit says the case, a 60 to 79-year-old who contracted the virus through travel, is now isolated in hospital. 

In Nipissing, one case was added, also a 60 to 79-year-old who contracted the virus through close contact and is now self-isolating. 

Six new recoveries were reported by the health unit over the weekend, one in Parry Sound bringing the total COVID-19 active case count to two cases in the district.

Five recoveries were reported in Nipissing bringing that district’s total case active count to five.

According to the health unit’s latest data, 1,239 COVID-19 tests were done over the weekend.
