West Parry Sound OPP had a busy Thanksgiving weekend.
Police were participating in their Operation Impact campaign over the long weekend.
The campaign focuses on increasing public awareness and compliance with traffic laws pertaining to the Big Four – which includes impaired, aggressive and inattentive driving as well as the lack of seatbelt use.
From Friday to Monday, police laid 44 speeding charges, three stunt, racing charges, one seatbelt charge, thirteen moving violation charges and one impaired driving charge.
OPP says it along with traffic safety partners are committed to saving lives on the road.
