Saturday collision on highway 69 leads to serious injuries and charges

A vehicle collision over the weekend has left two people with serious injuries.

The Nipissing West OPP says that on Saturday morning they responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 69, just south of Highway 64 in French River.

A Southbound vehicle struck the guard rail and then rolled into the ditch. The guard rail went through the vehicle.

Four passengers were in the car, and a 52-year-old passenger was airlifted to the hospital with a severed foot.
A 27-year-old in the backseat also suffered fractured ankles.

The driver and the other passenger were not injured.

The 56-year-old driver from Saint Catharines was charged with careless driving.
