Highway 69 Collision Leads To Impaired Driving Charges For St. Catharines Man

A St. Catharines man is facing impaired driving charges following a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 69.

On Wednesday, around 9:45 p.m., West Parry Sound OPP responded to the collision on the highway in Archipelago Township.

The collision took place in the construction zone at the Naiscoot River Bridge.

After speaking to one of the drivers – officers determined alcohol had been consumed, and they arrested him and took him to the local detachment for further testing.

As a result, the 37-year-old man from St. Catharines was charged with multiple impaired driving offences, including operation while impaired on alcohol and drugs.

The accused also had his license suspended for 90-days, and his vehicle was impounded.

He will be before a judge in Parry Sound at the Ontario Court of Justice on September 3rd.
