A Parry Sound woman is facing charges for operating an e-bike while under the influence.

Members from the West Parry Sound OPP were on general patrol early Sunday morning in the town of Parry Sound.

Around 2 a.m., officers stopped an e-bike on Bowes Street, and after speaking to the driver, they concluded that alcohol had been consumed.

The driver was arrested and taken to the local detachment for further testing.

As a result, a 37-year-old woman from Parry Sound is facing charges that include impaired operation while under the influence of alcohol and drugs and having a blood alcohol concentration of over 80.

She will be before a judge at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on September 3rd.

She also had her license suspended for 90 days, and her vehicle was impounded.
