Public input sought for new recreational and culture centre

PARRY SOUND, ON-The Citizens Advisory Committee is looking for public input on the new West Parry Sound Area Recreation and Cultural Centre.

Chair of the Committee Tom Lundy told MyParrySoundNow since they have not been able to hold public meetings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they have put together an online presentation and a short survey asking residents what parts of the facility they would use the most.

This new facility is set to feature a multi-lane lap and leisure pool, full gymnasium, fitness, aerobics and yoga studio, indoor track, and various multi-purpose program rooms.

What was initially supposed to occur, was the committee hosting a Q&A session while talking about the conceptual design of the building.

The survey and presentation will be on the seven Municipalities and two Indigenous Communities participating including, Seguin, McDougall, Shawanaga, Wasauksing, Parry Sound, McKellar, The Archipelago, Whitestone, and Carling sites on July 1st.

Once the survey is up, residents will have until the 14th to submit their answers.

If you do not have internet access, paper copies of the survey are available at one of the participating municipal offices or by calling your local municipality or First Nation administration office.
