Parry Sound staff raise money and food for the community

PARRY SOUND, ON-Staff working for the Town of Parry Sound have been able to collect over $1,000 and hundreds of pounds of food to give to vulnerable people in the community.

In May, the Town said that their Employee Food Drive was able to generate $1,250 in cash donations and close to 400lbs of food and distributed them to Harvest Share and the Salvation Army.

“It’s times like this that we must pull together as a community,” said Town CAO Clayton Harris. “I am very proud of the fact that our employees have been so generous in their support for the community and that we were able to partner with the local union executive.”

The Town said they wanted to help the residents in need as the pandemic has shown that everyone is dependant on each other as that many in the community are facing financial hardships.
