A Parry Sound man has been arrested after making threats while intoxicated.

On Thursday, around 12:30 a.m., members of the Almaguin Highlands OPP were called to a Spring Hill Road residence regarding a person who has consumed alcohol and was threatening others.

According to OPP, investigation revealed the man had been drinking that evening and had become agitated, and as a result, he was asked to leave the residence.

Once outside, the man started uttering threats to hurt the other people who were present.

Police arrested a 37-year-old man and have charged him with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats causing death or bodily harm.

He will be before a judge in Sundridge at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 27.
