PARRY SOUND, ON-The Ministry of Natural Resouces and Forestry (MNFR) is advising residents in Parry Sound and Georgian Bay that a Watershed Conditions Statement is in effect.
The statement issued today is sent to last until July 8th and affects the shoreline of Georgian Bay.
Residents are asked to keep regularly check for updated messages and exercise caution around the shoreline as water levels are expected to remain high through the coming weeks and months.
If residents own a sump pump, it is recommended that you check it to ensure that it is working properly and to protect and secure any property in flood-prone or vulnerable areas.
Banks and shorelines next to bodies of water can be slippery and unstable, and water temperatures remain very cold, residents and visitors should exercise caution around these areas and keep a close watch of any children and pets.
The MNRF is closely monitoring the situation and will release more updates when needed.
