A man has been charged for impaired driving following a motor vehicle collision.

West Parry Sound OPP said that on Wednesday, around 3:30 p.m., officers responded to a crash on Maple Island Road in Whitestone Township.

Upon speaking with the driver, police concluded alcohol had been consumed, and the driver was arrested and taken to the local detachment for further testing.

As a result, a 32-year-old man from Toronto is charged with the operation of a vehicle while impaired by drugs and alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol concentration of over 80.

The accused was also issued a 90-day licence suspension, and his vehicle was impounded.

He will be at the Parry Sound Ontario Court of Justice on July 23 to answer for his charges.
