New COVID-19 assessment centre Midland is accepting appointments

PARRY SOUND, ON-A new Georgian Bay Hospital run COVID-19 assessment centre is going to open in Midland. 

Set to open on March 25th, the centre will be available by appointment only and will be located next to the Chigamik Community Health Centre at 845 Unit 3 King St. in the Cedar Room. 

The clinic will assess and when necessary swab people for the COVID-19 virus and for a matter of safety, they will not be accepting any walk-in patients.  

When you enter, you will be assessed by a nurse and they will determine if you need to be tested. If it is decided that you will need to be looked at further, you will be swabbed, a sample will be sent for processing and you will then be instructed on how to self-isolate at home.

If you test positive, public health will contact you to inform you of the results and give you any necessary information that you may need. The wait for the results can vary depending on the number of tests being performed and until you hear from the clinic you are advised to stay at home and self-isolate.
