Parry Sound has new Director of Public Works

The Town of Parry Sound has a new Director of Public Works.

Mayor Jamie McGarvey and Council welcomed Michael Kearns this week, with the Mayor saying “ Mr. Kearns brings over 13 years’ experience in the Municipal Public Works Management; he is returning to the employ of the Town of Parry Sound as Michael previously worked as a Water/Wastewater Operator”

Kearns replaces Peter Brown who retired at the end of 2019.

Kearns is a member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists, who graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College from the Geoscience Data Technician Program as well as the Environmental Geoscience Technology Program.

He served as Director of Public Works in the Town of Iroquois Falls and most recently worked as the Manager of Operational Services in a local area municipality.

Mr. Kearns will be assuming his responsibilities with the Town effective January 27th.
