HONEY HARBOUR, ON-A man charged with impaired driving and assault has been given a court date.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP received a call at about 9:20 p.m. on January 16th about a crash on Honey Harbour Rd. between Hillside Dr. and Oak Bay Rd.

The officer on the scene found a red Ford Mustang in the ditch and after a brief investigation, the cop located the driver.

The officer began a drinking and driving investigation and when the cop tried to arrest the driver, he assaulted the officer. The officer was able to gain control and brought the man back to the Southern Georgian Bay OPP detachment for further investigation.

The 26-year-old man from Georgian Bay was charged with driving impaired, assault, uttering threats and other offences.

As a result, the accused car was impounded for seven days and his licence suspended for 90 days.

He is set to appear in court on February 6th.
