The winter wonderland will continue for the region

COTTAGE COUNTRY, ON – It looks like Cottage Country will end up on the higher side of predicted snowfall from today’s storm and it isn’t ending tonight.

Environment Canada’s meteorologist Gerald Cheng told the MyMuskokaNOW.com newsroom that the area should expect between 15 to 25 cm by the end of Wednesday.

He said 2 to 5 more centimetres can be expected between Thursday and Friday though.

“The winter wonderland continues,” Cheng said. “The temperatures, they are not really fun to deal with either. We are seeing values into the minus teens, which is quite cold and perfect for these snow squalls.”

Cheng added that flurries are expected to continue Thursday and into Friday, but then the area should see some relief.

“If you are looking for warm-up, it is on the way,” Cheng said. “Friday and Saturday will be your warmest days with a high of 2 C, which is above seasonal.”

For now, officials are telling drivers to be careful on the roads because it is quite dangerous. There have already been multiple accidents across the region.
