PARRY SOUND, ON- A pair of special advisors to the school district covering Parry Sound will be in town next week.

According to the Near North District School Board, special support was requested by the board from the provincial education ministry, who assigned two special advisors for the district board.

“The Special Advisor’s mandate is to provide the Minister of Education with advice and recommendations about how the Near North District School Board can improve its governance, human resources practices and financial accountability role to support and improve public confidence in the board and in Ontario’s publicly funded education system,” read the notice from the board.

A survey of parents and the community was completed in mid-October, and the results have now been compiled. The advisors are aiming to share those results with the public, while also asking for feedback on potential solutions and recommendations.

The meeting in Parry Sound will be on Thursday, November 28th, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

It will be held in the board room at Parry Sound High School, on Isabella Street.
