Snow possible for Muskoka, Parry Sound

COTTAGE COUNTRY, ON- Snow could be coming tomorrow.

That’s according to a new special weather statement issued by Environment Canada this afternoon for Huntsville to Baysville, as well as the Parry Sound area from Killbear Provincial Park to Rosseau.

Due to an approaching low pressure system, more than 40 millimetres of rain are expected for the area tonight through to Thursday evening.
As the low passes on Thursday night, the rain may change over to snow before tapering off by Friday. Snowfall of five to ten centimetres is possible.

The exact path of the system is not known for certain, which will impact how the rain changes over to snow and the amount of snow that falls.

“Many folks may wake up to snow covered grass for the first time this season Friday morning,” read the notice from the weather service.

Residents should consider postponing non-essential travel as poor winter driving conditions are expected.
