Northern Rescue nominated for National Awards

The list of nominees for this year’s Director’s Guild of Canada Awards has been announced and a TV production close to home graces the list.

Northern Rescue starring Billy Baldwin and Kathleen Robertson was filmed in the Parry Sound area in 2018 and originally aired on Netflix Canada and CBC GEM.

The show has been nominated for a total of three awards at the DGC’s annual awards gala set for October 26th at the Fairmount Royal York in Toronto.

 

The show is nominated twice in the “Outstanding Directorial Achievement In A Family Series” for the episodes “Que Sera” and “Duality”. The other nominations are for “Best Picture Editing” in a

Comedy or Family Series and “Best Sound Editing” in a Comedy or Family Series.

The debut season of Northern Rescue will be shown on CBC TV Wednesday nights at 9:00p.m. starting on September 18th.

So far there’s no word on whether there will be a season two.
