COTTAGE COUNTRY, ON- If you like to have a cookie with your coffee and also give to a good charity, next week is your sweet spot.
The annual Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie campaign runs from September 16th to 22nd. Restaurant owners give the full dollar from every freshly baked chocolate chunk cookie with an icing simile that is sold.
Last year across the country the campaign brought in $7.8 million. It is the 23rd year of the campaign which started as a local initiative at Hamilton Children’s Hospital in 1996.
Across our listening area, the following organizations will be receiving donations from the campaign.

Bracebridge: Alzheimer’s Society of Muskoka
Gravenhurst: Ryde Community Co-operative Inc.
Haliburton: Haliburton County Food Banks
Minden: Minden Community Food Bank
Burks Falls: Burks Falls Food Bank
Port Severn: Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation
Port Carling: Ontario SPCA Muskoka Animal Centre
Tim Horton’s restaurants will support 50 more charities in 2019, bringing the total to 550 nationally.
