Parry Sound-Muskoka All-Candidates Debates set

BRACEBRIDGE, ON – There are currently two events organized for residents to meet candidates for the upcoming federal election in Parry Sound-Muskoka.

The YWCA of Muskoka is hosting a federal All-Candidates debate next month.

The event is part of the 100 Debates on the Environment initiative, an organization attempting to coordinate debates in riding across the country, all on the same day. 100 Debates on the Environment is a non-partisan and politically neutral project that aims to bring voters together at the riding level to hear candidates’ best policy ideas for the environment.

The meeting will take place at the Bracebridge Sportsplex on October 3rd, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

The event will includE questions about key issues that matter to local Bracebridge residents. Members of the community are invited to submit their questions for candidates (about any topic) to electionquestions@ywcamuskoka.com by September 20.

The questions will be moderated by Metroland North Media managing editor Pamela Steel.

Another meeting is set for Almaguin-East Parry Sound on September 17th at the Sundridge-Strong-Joly Arena. This debate is organized by the local Retired Teachers of Ontario, Unit 6-1 and will go from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

The election candidates are Scott Aitchison (Progressive Conservative), Trisha Cowie (Liberal), Gord Miller (Green Party) and Tom Young (NDP).
