PARRY SOUND, ON- The risk of fire is rising in Parry Sound.

West Parry Sound fire coordinator Brian Leduc has announced that the fire rating for the area has risen to high, across the entire region.

This means that all fire permits are suspended and all fireworks are suspended, though campfires for warmth and cooking are still allowed.

The rating will be in place until August 21st.

Residents of the area should check with their local municipalities for allowable burning in their specific areas.
