GRAVENHURST, ON- The Beaver Creek Institution is on lockdown in Gravenhurst today.
According to a notice from the facility, a lockdown was put in place yesterday around 3:00 p.m. for staff to conduct an “exceptional search”.
“The search was ordered to ensure the safety and security of the institution, its staff and inmates,” read the notice.
“Normal operations will resume as soon as it is considered safe to do so.”
Visits have been suspended until the search is done. Anyone who had planned a visit should contact the facility directly.
