Parry Sound Mayoral candidates discuss views on relationships across the district

With municipal elections just two weeks away, mayoral campaigns are ramping up.  Both Town of Parry Sound Mayoral candidates responded to where their municipality fits in the Parry Sound District and how they would work with the other municipalities.  Incumbent Mayor Jaime McGarvey says Parry Sound is a hub community where the main business of the area is conducted.

McGarvey says he plans to continue to be a good neighbour as Parry Sound is a strong supporter of initiatives in the surrounding municipalities.

Challenger Ted Knight says although ties between municipalities have gotten better, they can still be enhanced.

Knight also says he would like to see the entire Parry Sound District rebranded.

Every residents should have received their online and telephone voting information through the mail and if you haven’t, please contact the municipal office.  The voting period starts at 10:00am this morning and will end at 8:00pm on Election Day, October 27th.
