The deadline for nominations for the Annual Bobby Orr Hall of Fame Celebrating Youth Awards is next Wednesday, April 24th.
Spokesperson Dave Garagan says the awards celebrate and recognize the achievement of our youth and nominees should exemplify the late Humboldt Bronco’s Coach Darcy Haugan’s core covenant for his players.
That covenant is:
Family first.
Treat teammates and coworkers with respect.
Be thankful for the opportunities you have been given.
Whatever your talent, do it with passion and determination every day.
Conduct yourself with honesty and integrity.
Treat all volunteers, sponsors and fans with respect and gratitude.
Understand that we are building foundations for future generations with our words and actions.
Always have hope and believe that anything is possible.
Always give more than you take.
Strive for greatness in all areas of life.
In addition, graduating Grade 12 students pursuing post-secondary education will also be considered for one of two $1,000 scholarships. You can find more details, including how to nominate someone, at this website.
