New Parry Sound Founders Circle to promote local entrepreneurs

Parry Sound Muskoka Community Network is starting up a Parry Sound Founders Circle.

The new project was announced at last night’s IMPACT awards by PMCN Chair Maureen Cubberley. The Founders Circles’ goal is to provide a $10,000 prize at next year’s IMPACT Awards. Similar to the Muskoka Founders Choice, the award will be given to a Parry Sound based entrepreneur with the most promising new business idea.

The IMPACT Awards is a red-carpet gala dinner event to celebrate the accomplishments of the Founders Circle and winners of other business Innovation awards of $1,000 each presented by PMCN.

“We were impressed by the IMPACT that the Founders Circle has had across Muskoka and appreciate their encouragement to form a Founders Circle in the Parry Sound. The Town of Parry Sound is pleased to be one of the Founders,” said Clayton Harris, CAO of the Town of Parry Sound.

Stuart Morley, Executive Director of the Parry Sound Muskoka Community Network added, “We are pleased to partner with The Town of Parry Sound to launch the Parry Sound Founders Circle and celebrate the winners at the 2020 IMPACT Awards. This is a fitting way to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit that is alive and well and gaining momentum in both Parry Sound and Muskoka.”

Parry Sound Founders Circle is a group of Parry Sound-based individuals and organizations working together to promote economic development and encourage entrepreneurs in Parry Sound. Members each contribute a $1,000 a year for a “Dragon’s Den style” selection of a $10,000 winner.
