The Ice Surface Rebuild project for the Bobby Orr Community Centre delayed from last year is set to begin on April 8th.
The project was postponed so as not to delay the 2018-2019 hockey season and to allow for a proper design, assessment, and investigation phase. Tuesday night at Council the costs for the various construction components were approved with the bill coming in at around $536,000 which means the project is $90,000 under budget.
Quinan Construction Limited will oversee the project and have successfully done work on several arenas, including MacTier, on time and on budget. The work will be completed by August, allowing for ice in the BOCC in September.
