GoFundMe account for Sundridge fire victims started

A GoFundMe account for a Sundridge family has exceeded expectations.

Patty and Crystal Hicks lost all that they owned when the apartment they lived in burned down in Sundridge last Thursday night.

It is the second tragedy to hit the family in three months as husband and father Bernie passed away the day after Christmas.

The fund was looking to raise $10,000 but as of today is sitting at $11,045.

The pair lived in an apartment above a Muskoka Auto Parts store. It caught fire and Patty and Crystal, along with their cat, escaped the flames unharmed but with no belongings.

Andrea Stayer organized the campaign and says, “While we can’t replace the irreplaceable memories they lost of Bernie, I am hoping we can ease some of the pain and stress of losing everything else. This family has been through so much in a short amount of time and I know they are supported and loved very much, so let’s do what we can to help them in any way we can.”
