Parry Sound and Muskoka communities getting $19M funding boost

A number of communities within the Muskoka and Parry Sound regions are benefitting from provincial assistance grants.

The Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund is providing $8,039,900 to the District of Muskoka, Huntsville, Lake of Bays, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Town of Muskoka Lakes.

A dozen towns in Parry Sound and area will be getting a total of $11,610,200. The total amount for the two areas is $19,650,100.

The money is used to support areas that have limited property assessment, and are located in rural or northern locations.  It’s typically considered general revenue and spent where it’s needed.

According to the OMPF website, the funding formula is staying the same as 2018 levels.
